Professional Carpet Cleaning – How Often?
Regular, professional carpet cleaning can help preserve your investment. We recommend having your carpets professionally cleaned about every six months to a year, or more for extremely heavy traffic areas. Appointments are scheduled within a specified window to suit your convenience.
There is no such thing as having your carpet professionally cleaned too often. Proper professional cleaning can be done as often as needed without damaging or reducing the lifespan of your carpet. Removing dust, dirt, allergens, and other pollutants helps prevent premature wear. The professional technicians at KINGSWAY are thoroughly educated and trained in proven, effective cleaning processes that extract debris and grime trapped deep within carpet fibers and leave the texture and appearance of your carpet beautiful and sanitary.
What to Expect
Cleaning is done by our two-person, uniformed crew. Our team is IICRC* certified, background checked, and insured.
Preliminary procedures include a pre-inspection to assess soiling, damage, or any potentially permanent stains. We will move and replace most furniture and place protectors, as needed. Our pre-cleaning process includes pre-vacuuming to remove loose debris and pre-treating stains and spills to emulsify problem areas. Your carpet may need to be pre-shampooed using a gentle agitation to loosen and suspend soil. There is an additional charge for this service, and we will never perform it unnecessarily.
Soil extraction and rinse and process involves steam extraction with detergent, using either with portable equipment or truck mount systems. These methods will rinse out most soils and detergents, leaving the carpet bright and clean. Our cleaning methods do not leave behind any sticky residues.
Our post-cleaning procedures include placing blowers to speed drying time and doing a post-cleaning inspection with the client to review the quality of service. Application of protective treatments are available at additional cost.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING CARPET WARRANTIES: Copies of specific warranties on your carpet purchase may be available from your carpet retailer. Stain resist warranties can vary from 5 to 20 years. ALL STAIN RESIST WARRANTIES REQUIRE REGULAR CLEANING AND IMMEDIATE SPOT REMOVAL.
Protective Treatments
New residential carpets are treated with stain resist properties and soil resistors known as Dupont Teflon of 3M Scotchgard. After a period of 2 to 3 years, this treatment begins to wear off. We are a licensed applicator of 3M Scotchgard and can re-apply the treatment after professional cleaning. The soil resistor will help the soil slide off the carpet easier with vacuuming, spots will be easier to remove, and professional cleaning will be more effective. Carpet Care
When it comes to maintaining your carpet, one of the most critical areas of focus is the traffic areas. If ground in soil is not removed on a regular basis, these traffic areas will begin to wear excessively. The dirt is extremely abrasive against the fibers of the carpet as you walk back and forth on it. Regular vacuuming can reduce the amount of abrasive material in your carpet, which will help prevent premature wear and unsightly traffic patterns.
The second area of focus, of course, is spot removal. You must react to ‘danger’ spots immediately. Red wine, red beverages, urine, blood, etc. can cause a permanent stain if not treated immediately.
